Coconut Fight Erupts In Westside Traffic; 2 Injured

NĀNĀKULI, OAHU, HAWAII — Road rage has taken an unusual tone on the west side Wednesday morning when an all out coconut fight took place during the morning commute.

Traffic was at a stand still in the town bound direction on Farrington Highway fronting Sack N Save when witnesses say a man in a white flatbed truck started lobbing unhusked coconuts at unsuspecting vehicles.

“I just saw this old dude get out of his truck, reach in the back and start launching coconuts at all the cars”, said Jansen Kahalewai, who was a few cars behind the irate driver. “Bruddah was losing it” he continued, “Another Bruddah hopped out of his car and started throwing the coconuts back at him, was kind of like they was playing dodgeball but only they were using coconuts instead of red rubber balls.”

Authorities say 2 people were injured during the melee and were treated at the scene.

Police arrested 44 year old Kona P. Soa of Mākaha on two counts of assault and criminal property damage.

Traffic in the area has been linked to temper tantrums, stress and beatdowns handed out by residents of the Wai’anae Coast for years.

Or it could be that the hawaii system is terrible and doesn’t support a big city like honolulu because it’s outdated and local corrupt officials would rather spend the money restricting concealed carrys or hiring there cousin instead of more qualified workers. Typical ignorant local, my way of life is ruined. Have you thought about what that means. Probably not. But when you use your 4G cellphone and 4k tv or high speed internet. Or for the that matter your car or truck. I guess they all ruined your way of life too cause they came from off island. Maybe the non natives she be the ones throwing coconuts at people like you. It would be a better idea.

Sounds like you know shit about Hawaiʻi and the culture. But then again, it’s your culture to spout your ignorance as epiphany and fact. You point to things like phones and cars! 🤣 I read another ignoramus say Hawaiian’s should take accountability, that’s what he was doing with coconuts.

Your way of life allows you to knowingly commit genocide, take zero accountability, and then run your mouth.

If it wasn’t for mainlanders bringing in money for Hawaii then that place would be a shit hole with nice trees and a sunset. You all would still be eating pineapples wearing grass for clothes and driving on dirt roads. I’ve lived in Hawaii and if it wasn’t for the Mainlanders and tourist then that place would be a 3rd world shit hole. You can’t even speak proper English the the “bruddah” shit…it’s brother by the way. Dakine isn’t a real word and learn to spell more words using more letters than just A,E,I,O,U,K,H.

Islanders have the right to speak their own. Try not to minimize people on level of education but by what is true knowledge of kjnd heart. Think that a shit hole with beautiful palms and a pineapple diet may not be a bad idea. No longer need for taking H1?, work like an slave to bring food and a roof over the head, and all the complications of modern society, when all we need is love.
I am from another part of our planet, but we ultimately are all spirit of aloha, those not understanding are ha o li. No breath, no spirit, are outsiders.

That’s the way the locals prefer it! Dirt roads grass skirts and pigeon English. That’s what makes Hawaii Hawaii. Don’t be coming here and try to convert it to the mainland! If you don’t like it go back to your shit hole mainland!

I think us Hawaii would of survived without mainlanders. Shoots, Hawaiians did fine for hundreds of years before the arrival of Capt. Cook and would of continue doing so up until today. Look at us Hawaiians on Niihau. We still surviving without mainlanders. Sustainability.

Shut the fuck up you fuckin bitch ass. Your fucking Government ripped off the islands from the Polynesian people the same fucking way they took the land from the natives in America you dumb fucks need to read up on your history. If it wasn’t for Hawaii America wouldn’t have been able to win the war against Japan you fucking retard.

You’re a fucktard! I guess your parents raised a winner who grew up to be a bigot. You have no clue what you’re even doing with your life. Look braddah banging your second cousin isn’t a good idea, blowing your 67 year old boss sure didn’t work, your retard kids have been in 3rd grade for 5 years and your wife’s, if any, still banging the paperboy all these years. Stay on the mainland because we don’t want people who don’t adapt to where they visit or move to.

Wow! Such hostility and animosity. Yes, hawaii does need its tourist but in response to “hawaii would be a 3rd world shit hole without mainlanders and tourist”, I disagree. Hawaii is a beautiful place full of history and many increditable native people. You also speak of how we do not know how proper English “brother” but you’re sadly wrong again. We know exactly how to speak proper English, it is just that we live a much simpler life here in hawaii. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions so here’s mines…if you deeply feel this way then it’s best you return to your home back in the States and let Hawaiians and hawaiian at hearts live happily in our paradise home. You forgot that if it weren’t for the white man, the hawaiians would be free of disease. You know the one the white man gave every race they raped and pilaged. Please stay on the Mainland because you are definitely not wanted here in Hawaii. You talk about proper English? You will never understand what the white man took away from the Hawaiians. Educate yourself before you disrespectfully comment on any post.

Youre an idiot. I live in Hawaii. My family has been here for 75 years or so. Hawaii would be fine. The Hawaiian kingdom sustained more than a millian people before us haoles brought disease and killed everyone. Tourism would weaken the economy causing people to leave for lack of jobs. Once everyone leaves you establish a smaller local economy based on exports and farming. Boom economy is fine. The Hawaiian language is an intricate language and one of the most beautiful. You just sound like a jealous sailor whos wife had some local hamma’ turn her out while you were off on a ship somewhere… Dont know what a hamma’ is… Because you aint got dakine between your legs. Grow up. The world is better when we all work for the betterment of the people around us. None is more true than here in Hawaii, a delicate and sacred eco system that haoles and locals alike often take for granted. I was converted from meat and potatoes to poké and poi and respect the hell out of this island.

Aloha ! Speaking as a native (I have a time share i have been staying at for the past 4 years). Id say its all these damn Malihini ruining our way of life. We should ban all the tourists, americans and Muslims, and keep them off of our Aina. Return to our simple way of lives.. sitting on the beach at our resorts, sipping chi chis, and getting a tan, enjoying some pakalolo and pupu, maybe a light lunch and some activities before the big luau.. The traffic is terrible there, the workers in Hawaii , have no idea what they are doing. Too much people , not enough island, gotta stop people from coming to live here. You can come visit, but you cannot stay.

I’m hawaiian and what’s in the past is in the past but don’t forget where we came from. Yeah they stole our land from the Queen and the people. Ok moving foward to the real problem. Hawaii’s infrastructure is poorly designed. We have 1 major freeway going west to East and instead of building another freeway, they decide to build a fucking tram like the one at pearl ridge. Also its probably going to move just as fast as that one and carry the same amount of people because our politicians are so corrupt. They will go cheap on the useless trolley and keep the extra money for themselves. We shouldn’t be fighting the haoles, we should be scrapping our shitty corrupt politicians that take advantage of us just like how the haoles took advantage of the Queens aloha.

MAINLANDER…you need to stay on the MAINLAND!!!!. No need to be disrespectful towards the people of Hawaii. And yes we probably would be living in grass shacks, wearing grass skirts and eating pineapple and we would most importantly be free of disease. You know the one the WHITE MAN gave to every race they raped and pilaged.

Well I WAS IN NANAKULI this morning for the Nanakuli High and Middle school “Brown Bags to Stardom” talent show and those kids got more class, dignity, school spirit and respect for other than some of those adults living in the area. God bless the kids at Nanakuli High and Middle!
